Conditional formatting of one cell based on date range of another cell

Hi,

I am trying to format a cell based on the date of another cell.

I hope the example shows what I am trying to achieve

I want E6 to be yellow when today's date is 6 to 1 days in advance of the date shown in C6.
When today's date is the same as C6 then E6 will be red which I have done.

Thanks for your quick response protonleah. That doesn't seem to achieve what I want. I've re edited the attachment as there was a clear error within it which may have confused you.

when C6 = today i.e. 01/08/10 I want E6 to be formatted red but in the 6 days leading up to 01/08/10 I want E6 to be formatted yellow. How is this achieved?
