    Making a list into columns?

    Hi,

I basically have a list of e-mails, all separated by commas in a notepad file. But I would like to put them all in a single column, so that only 1 e-mail is in each column.

Is there an easy way to do this? I would assume so but I can't figure it out.

If you know how to do this in Microsoft Word, that is also fine.

Thanks so much for your help!

    Hello Torp,

click the cell with your email addresses that are separated by commas.

Click the Data ribbon - Text to columns - select "Delimited" - Next - tick Comma, untick everything else - Click Finish

If that does not help, please post a data sample in an Excel workbook.

Open the file in a good Text Editor (I use EditPad) and use the search/replace feature to replace all the commas with carriage returns. Now each email address is on a separate line and you can simply copy them from the editor into a column in Excel. You could even do this in Microsoft Word.
