Unable to find formula to show VAT rate used

I am very new to using Ms Excel 2010 (or any Excel versions!!) and am hoping that you dont mind me asking what is probably a very easy question regarding a formula.

I have 3 columns showing

(D) Total Amount (E) VAT (F) Net Amount (H)
£100.05 £14.90 £85.15

I want the H column to show the VAT rate that was used for example on the above figure it would show 17.50%

I have tried =E4/F4 but this is not showing 17.50%

HELP!!

E4/F4 looks fine and works as it should, just format as %

How do you format %.
As I said, I am completely new to Excel so this is a very steep learning curve for me and I would appreciate your assistance 'step by step'

You have different options
1. Select your result cell and click on the button with a % located on the format toolbar
2. Right click the cell - Select Format cells - select the " Number "tab - Select "Percentage" category and adjust the number of decimal places as needed - OK

thank you for your swift reply but can I now ask how I apply this to the whole cell as opposed to doing each line indivudually i.e(E4/F4, E5/F5 etc et)

Do you mean to a whole column?
Enter the formula in the 1st cell, and drag it down to the following cells, as far as needed.The formula will adapt

Also RT..M about relative and absolute formulas
