    Smile Single Entry Per Cell

    Hi,

    My title does not satisfactorily explain..

    How do I restrict the entry of data in to a cell.. I would like to restrict the data to a single letter or digit.

    IE: in the attached spreadsheet I want to enter just an A into B2 and have excel refuse another letter or digit, and so on.

    Use Data Validation with the following criteria:

    Allow: Custom
    Formula: =LEN(B2)<=1
