    Alphabetize list by column B

I just signed up for the forum and am a little bit intimidated by the questions and answers I've read. They seem to be for users who are far more advanced than I am. I'm basically a self-taught Excel user, but I hope you can help me. I'm making a list of about 50 people, putting their first names in column A and last names in column B. My question is, how do I alphabetize the list by last name (col. B), in a way that keeps the first (col. A) and last names together? Thanks.

    Hi,

Just make sure you select the range A1:B50 (or whatever the last row number is) and then use the normal Excel Data Sort menu and choose to sort on column B ascending.

    BShane,
here's an in depth article on sorting: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...947.aspx?CTT=1

I'd actually suggest you check out http://office.microsoft.com - you may find a lot of really helpful informtation there. The videos and training courses are particularly useful - and many of them are actually pretty short and quick.
