plz help me experts,... i am new to excel.
i am in animal husbandry department of punjab.
i am attaching a xlsx sheet here . it is a example . as shown in the sheet .....
numbers of semen strws distribute to different towns.in a year 1-4-2011 to 31-12-2012
MY main question is that .
i want the total of straws for Amritsar in sheet 1
and total of straws for Tarn Taran in sheet 3
Total of straws for ludhiana in sheet 4....
and so on................................
plz tell me that what is the function name to do this . and

detail for apply to this...
PLZ PLZ help me ..........

I'm not in animal husbandry so your example doesn't clearly indicate what it is that you want but I think you're looking for the SUMIF() function. Here is a link to read about how it is used:

This formula:

=SUMIF(L:L,"amritsar",M:M) on Sheet 2 of your sample gives a sum of all the values in column M where "amritsar" is on the same row in column L (which is 120)

actually attached excel sheet is my distribution register for 1 year .
i distribute straws to different institute like amritsar ,Tarn taran , jalandhar,etc...
i need sub total for Amritsar in different sheet for the whole year without any other comfort .
when i enter amritsar in main excel sheet .... it automatically enter to other sheet which is only reserve for amritsar.( sheet 1)
and same way like ludhiana it automatically enter to other sheet which is only reserve for ludhiana.( for example :sheet 2)
and so and so going on
