    Re: JPEG link to a value in a Spreadsheet

    Hi RoyUK,

    I already made a hyperlink, but hyperlink needs to be clicked to show the picture...
    I was thinking, if it is possible that when I input a letter corresponding to a picture, it will appear on the same cell or the cell next to it. to show that that is the picture corresponding to that letter.

    regards,
    Humphrey

    Dear Humphrey, Good Afternoon.

    Greetings From Brazil !

    "...Is there a posibility that a Picture can be linked to a Value encoded in a cell?..."
    Yes, of course there is.

    I did an simple example to you.
    Here is it: http://www.4shared.com/document/7tDH..._EXAMPLE_.html

    Sorry, but I donīt know VBA or Complex MACROS, then I use only formulas.

    They are very simple.
    I used Named Ranges (Dinamic Ranges) and a validation cell.

    Take a look at it.
    Is this what are you looking for?

    Everything is simple on it, but if necessary, feel free to ask anything about it.
    I will be very glad to help a friend from so far.

    Lightbulb Re: JPEG link to a value in a Spreadsheet

    Dear Humphrey, Good Evening.

    First of all, forgive my mistakes using english.

    I donīt know what can be the problem.
    As I said before, the solution is very simple.

    A) I created a list of images and their names on Plan PHOTOS.
    ....Inserted the photos and typed the names.

    B) At Plan Display I inserted a image, choosed the dimensions.
    ....Selected the photo and names it as =SHOWFLOWER
    ....Click on it and look at formula bar. Youīll see the name =SHOWFLOWER

    C) I edited the name: Menu --> Insert --> Name --> Define --> click on SHOWFLOWER
    ....Click on refers to and put this formula there:
    =INDIRECT(CONCATENATE("Photos!$A$"&MATCH(Display!$F$7,Photos!$B$1:$B$5,0)))
    Click on ADD.

    D) The F7 cell is a validation name only. Name: FLOWERNAMES , refers to:
    =Photos!$B$1:$B$5

    If you prefer put your Excel file here anda Iīll check it for you.

    I believe thatīs only a little problem, probably, with your layout and the references cells.

    I waiting for your Excel file.

    Re: JPEG link to a value in a Spreadsheet

    Do you intend storing the images actually in the workbook? That is what you need to do to make that method work.

    Exclamation Re: JPEG link to a value in a Spreadsheet

    Dear Humphrey , Good Morning.

    I downloaded your file.

    There isnīt any exemple on it.
    What is the criteria to decide about one or other image?

    Why did you created dozens of names a, aa, aaa......z, zz, zzzz ?
    Is your intention to use 225 differents process? Thatīs the reason?

    I simple named a new range and aplied to show you at Link Plan.

    I want to help you, but itīs necessary you to explain better what is your necessity.
    The process is very simple but is necessary be precise too.

    Look at this example attached.

    Waitting for you explanation and example.

    Re: JPEG link to a value in a Spreadsheet

    Hi Marcilio,
    my purpose is to input a Number on the cell where the picture will appear over it, I was thinking that I wont use the drop-down function.

    What is the criteria to decide about one or other image?
    Pictures & Number = Skill Level
    0 = Poor
    1 = 1st level
    2 = 2nd level
    3 = 3rd level
    4 = Excellent

    Is your intention to use 225 differents process?
    Yes, because each Row is one person and he needs to be evaluated on different operations (15 items)

    How will I do it when I want to make more items (add more Rows so I can add more persons to evaluate)? The form ask me to Rename when I copy.

    Hi royUK,
    again, sorry for my mistake...

    regards,
    Humphrey

    Thumbs up Re: JPEG link to a value in a Spreadsheet

    Dear Humphrey, Good Evening.

    I understood all the details about your answers,

    I adjust the first line using the formula presented on Link plan.
    Take a look at it.
    To continue you must only adjust the others lines according the right parameters.
    Everything will work like you desire.

    I believe that this process will be very heavy to the Excel to solve it.
    And you need to add more lines isnīt it?
    I am very concerning about performance of the worksheet.

    Think about it

    I am suggesting you another process.
    Why not using TTF FONT to do the same process.

    I created a new plan, Form NEW PROCESS, where a used a font to present the status like you desire.
    Iīm using PIZZADUDE BULLETS.TTF.

    "...my purpose is to input a Number on the cell where the picture will appear..."
    The process will continue the same.

    What is the criteria to decide about one or other image?
    Pictures & Number = Skill Level

    FONT___IMAGE___
    __j________0_____ = Poor
    __i________1_____ = 1st level
    __h________2_____= 2nd level
    __g________3_____= 3rd level
    __f________4_____ = Excellent

    "...How will I do it when I want to make more items (add more Rows so I can add more persons to evaluate)?..."
    Using this new method there isnīt any problem about adding new lines.
    Itīs ONLY TEXT.

    Take a look at it and talk me about it.

    I Hope this can help you.
