Deducting a percentage from a number

    Hi there
I hope you can see the picture that I have included. Basically, I have a cell that has a price, and I would like to give discounts that vary from 3 to 15 percent. How can I insert the percentage (for example 3, to indicate a percent) in the cell below and have that 3 percent automatically deducted from the price above (85)?
Basically i am trying to deduct 3% from 85. All I want to do is put in the 3, or 4 if needed, which will calculate the reduction and show the reduced price above
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Please don't upload pictures, they are rarely much use. You've created a workbook: just upload that instead.

If you're trying to enter a % in a specific cell and then have that same cell change to become a result based on the % you entered and another cell then you can't - not at least without a macro.

If however you have 85 in A1, 3% in A2, then enter in A3
    =A1*(1-A2)

    Regards
