Searching multiple xlsx files to find all instances where cell K14<>0

    Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with this one!

Every month (on the 1st), my sales application produces a report for each of my clients showing their sales for the previous month.

I currently need to open each xls file to check cell K14=0 (only one worksheet in each file).

If K14=0 I can send the sheet through to that client and everyone's happy.

If K14<>0 I then need to take further action to correct it before I send the statement across.

This means every month I have to manually look in 200+ sheets to check this, and am thinking there must be an easier way to search a folder full of xls files to pull back the name of any client (shown in cell a1) where K14<>0

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Ben

Paste the following macro to a new Module within a new Workbook.

This macro asks you for the files you want to check, which you can select multiple files from a single directory by holding down the CTRL or Shift button when selecting. If you have files in multiple directories, run this macro for each directory and it will just append the findings on the end.

Warning: This macro contains code which will close workbooks without saving changes. I have put a warning message within the code, but if you have anything else open, I suggest closing them first or risk losing any changes.

    You sir, are a legend!

That does exactly what I need it to do, and has just saved me a half-day's work every month.

    Thank you!
