Exclamation Preventing entry to a specific cell once another cell have already an entry from list

    Hi,

I know this is very basic, but I do admit that I am not that knowledgeable in formulas or functions specially in excel. However, I do need it badly for my worksheet report.

    Anyhow here it goes...

I would like to know if there is a possibility to PREVENT any (text and numeric) entry in a specific cell once you put an entry to another cell. The nature of putting an entry is by choosing from a drop down list (validation).

    Example:

I have list (validation) for both cell A1 and B1 (totally different set of list). Once I choose an entry from the list for A1, the other cell, specifically B1 will automatically prevent itself to have any entry, even from its own list (validation). This should also apply for cell B1 as well. If I choose an entry from the list of cell B1, then A1 will automatically prevent itself to have any entry even from its own drop down list.

I would like to ask and seek help, if it is possible.

    Thank you so much

Thank you for the reply RoyUK.

However, I would appreciate it if you can be more specific? Like, if there is a actual code. If it is not too much.

    Again. Thank you

    Hi again,

Anyone can help me with my inquiry above.

I would like to know if there is a possibility to PREVENT any (text and numeric) entry in a specific cell once you put an entry to another cell. The nature of putting an entry is by choosing from a drop down list (validation).

    Thank you
