    Represent values by columns

    Hi,

In Excel 2003 I used to represent values (percents) by horizontal columns generated by formulas like =REP("g";A4/10), the cells being formated in Webdings where the letter g gives a square surface.

I have built a little example that I join.

The problem is that the "g"s may only be shown as whole "g"s, whereas the value 25 f.i. would require 2,5 "g"s, but only 2 are represented, and the column isn't precise.

Is there a more elegant solution in Excel 2010 for that task?

    Thank You for every hint

    Aloha

I've used this same technique in the past, I just used this formula

    =REPT("|", A4)

...formatted font as Arial Narrow, I've alway like the "bar effect" it creates.

    Hi ALOHA

You could also use the bar graph

    Hi,

    Thank You for the hints.
With the "l" it works, but one doesn't get a neat closed surface, but a number of "l" with some space between 2 "l".

The bar graph, I may not apply it to a number of single lines, or do I?
