Trace Dependents and Precendents black dotted line to non formula cell?

When I Trace Dependents and Precendents on a cell with a formula that's giving me problems it shows the blue lines to the correct cells involved. However it also shows a black dashed line to a non formula, empty cell, with an icon that looks like spreadsheet. What is it? Could it be the source of my problems, all other cells check out but I get a #N/A error in my formula cell. Thank u!

    Hi CKD777

That spreadsheet icon is telling you that the stuff in the formula is coming from another worksheet.

You can also double click the dotted line to bring up the goto dialog box. From there you can go directly to the cells indicated.
