Conditional Formatting when using Data Validation Lists

I have set conditional formating to highlight public holidays when a series of dates are calculated from a cell input for pay period week-endings. It works perfectly from a manual input, but, as I require data validation for pay period day endings and also selecting weekly paid or fortnightly paid, I have created a named list that gives a limited number of dates in the list for selection. That part works perfectly, but the conditional formatting does not work! when a selection is made from the list. So - everything works with manual input but does not work with list input. Can anybody suggest a work-around for this?

It would be easier if we could see a workbook with dummy data so we can evaluate your actual formula and how your data is laid out. Also, I'm not entirely sure which circumstances should trigger the conditional formatting. Could you elaborate with an example or two please?

Can give you the actual workbook, but where do I publish it to?

Further to my attached file Timesheet6d.xls.
Select cell C3, Select date 21/12/2011, W/ending 28/12/2011 panel should highlight 27/12/2011 and 28/12/2011. It does not.
Go to Cell D5, Tools/unprotect and check conditional formatting then go to C3 Data/Validation/Clear All then manually input 21/12/2011 and highlights (conditional formatting) appear.
To reset validation Lists & source=weekend

Change AJ1 to =Today(). Also, in the future, please help us help you by showing tabs, not protecting the worksheets (even if there is no password), etc. It's not a huge deal, but it makes no sense to make us go through extra steps to help you.

Thanks Darkyam. I did reset the options but uploaded the un-amended file. Sorry for that.
