Merging lines with same data of one column

Hi to all.
I am new to Excel functions so i would like to ask you.
I have an excel file that is like below:
At A column i have some text
At B column i have some numbers.

A B
1 item 1 100
2 item 2 200
3 item 3 100
4 item 2 300
5 item 3 100
6 item 1 200
7 item 1 100
8 item 2 100
9 item 2 100

I would like to know if there is any way to merge all the lines with item 1 to one line , item 2 to another line , item 3 to a third line and at column B of each line the sum of B's cells of each item.
I mean i want to have an excel file like:

A B
1 item 1 400
2 item 2 700
3 item 3 200
