    Cell Format text

    Hello,

I want to modify an existing worksheet. I want the cells in 1 column to "show" the same size but take different amounts of text and not stretch the visible cell size. I'm using Excel 2002 sp3.

    Thanks,
    Trent

It sounds like you want the cell size to stay the same no matter how much data is in the cell. To do this, make sure that the: Format Cells > Alignment > Wrap Text check box is NOT checked. You can then adjust the cell size and it will not stretch with the addition of new text.

    Hi Trent,

Welcome to the forum. Wishing you a very happy new year ahead.
Just adding another option to what CircleF has suggested, check the box next to "Shrink to fit" if you want to house the text, irrespective of the size, into the same cell. Though you need to compromise with readability but if this is for some formula reference, then this would work great.

Thanks for the tips. The Row Height did the trick.
