Military time format not sticking when I concantenate

I am not a high level excel user and am really struggling with making my military time , let's say-- 1342, continue to read as 1342 when I concatenate it with other fields. It keeps converting it to a decimal within the concatenated line. I tried just copying and pasting/special- values the column of military time to make it statically military in appearance before I concatenate, but it's not working. What in the world am I doing wrong?
I'd just retype it as text, except I have thousands of lines to concatenate.
Please help a novice.

Try using TEXT function in your concatenation formula, for example if you have a time in A1 use a formula like

="Arrival time is "&TEXT(A1,"hhmm")

Thank you! I could just copy my column with =TEXT(A1,"hhmm") then! ----then copy/paste special-values before I begin the concatenation process too. Thank you so much for your help- this works.
