    Hi

I am trying to do a match to see if there are duplicate Surname's within a spreadsheet,
However when I try =MATCH I cannot seem to get the results unless I use Match Type 1 However this seems to bring up data even if the Surnames arent the same?
I think maybe there are common letter but I really cant figure it out

Spreadsheet is attached..I am looking to find out if Buyer Column and Seller Column have been family transfers where the Surname is a common demonitor...

    Hi MarvinP

Thanks for the rapid responce..and sorry to bother again,But the spreadsheet does exactly what I want except I need the Surname ( First Text )..The formula has given me the Last Text String..and I am afraid I have no idea how to amend the formula to get what I need (couldnt see any notes?)

    Thanks alot..
