Yes, I've had this problem as well. I use MapInfo from time to time and also want to export from Excel to .dbf. Sadly Excel2007 does not support this, but you can find addins that can do this for; you have to pay for them though. What you can do though, and what I do, is to copy your data into Calc (OpenOffice spreadsheet) from Excel and save to .dbf from there.

Well, if you find it, please let me know! I posted the same issue here a few months ago, but didn't get any other answer than the one I posted above.
