    Elo Ranking Table Help

    Hello all,

This is my first post here! I've been searching all over the internet for a program or script to easily manage data entry and convert it into auto-updating Elo ratings.

I found this place through my searches and found a great post by a member here by the name of shg which included an attached xls file (which I have attached here).

This will probably be simple for some of you guys but being new to excel I'm scared to mess up any of the built in coding to this file by editing it myself. Basically all I want to do is expand the table on the right which contains the player names and ratings so that I can continue entering the results on the left but with using more of an unlimited number of players. At the moment it's limited to 8 players.

Thanks for any help in advance.

    Martin.

to me, ELO stands for electric light orchestra. lol sorry, showing my age

from what i can see, you should just be able to keep copying the rows down for as much as you need. i tested most of them, and they seem to copy down just fine.

If shg doesnt reply to this, i would suggest making a copy of the file and then just trying it...nothing to lose there

I tried copy/pasting the table however that seems to break the coded forumla in the new cells. It is possible that I am copy and pasting wrongly haha, I am that new to Excel.

Here is a visual of what I'm trying to accomplish:

i copied col V over and row 14 down manually and it seemed to work fine. try hat and see if it works for you. i did NOT try and copy the entire table, rather did it a row/column at a time

    hope this works for you?

Just insert columns into the interior of the table and copy the formulas across.

    Re: Elo Ranking Table Help

I had a similar issue previously. The workbooks in the linked file are unlimited in scope so any additions can be made using these concepts and formula. My current version has over 400 'teams' that all compete in different divisions with working leaderboards and ranking systems. You should find a lot of what you need in the thread and some good explanations from the other forum users (Big thanks to the people who helped me )
