How to modify placement of automatic commas in worksheet

I have received a workbook placing commas as xx,xx,xx,xxx in stead of the usual xxx, xxx, xxx. appreciate if someone could help me revert the workbook to the latter system. I have tried using the numbers section in the format section but unable rectify.

Thanks

Re: How to modify placement of automatic commas in worksheet

based on your samples, try this...
=LEFT(SUBSTITUTE(A1,",",""),3)&","&MID(SUBSTITUTE(A1,",",""),3,3)&","&RIGHT(A1,3)

although i doubt your actual data is this simple?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Sample File uploaded. I believe the method should be simple - for the suggestions received from F dibbins & Dogberry, I doubt I know how to try or put them into effect?

Thanks in anticipation
