    Exclamation 3D Referencing

I have been reading about 3D referencing and can not figure out the formula.

I am taking one row of information in a worksheet from workbook A, and transferring it to a row in workbook B.

The problem is.... I can get the first formula to work, but I don't want to have to copy and paste the code then edit it 270 times.

I am trying to look for a QUICK way of doing it.

    My code is as follows.

    Formula:
    ='[Pile Records.xlsx]1'!B$70

The problem for me.. Is that I when I go to drag the entire row. I can not get the 1 to change to a 2, so I am forced to go through the 270 cells.

    ANOTHER problem I have had....

I need to copy that column.. Then take it and paste it across a row.. so it would take information from B 70, then C 70, then D 70..

I am in dire need of help lol..

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Copying and pasting problem caused by $ in the formula.

If you have the $ symbol in front of the B and copy it across a row, then it will always stay as $B. If you remove the $ from in front of the B in your first formula, then it will change to C, D, E, F etc in the following columns, whereas the row number will remain the same.

    Hope this helps.
