FIFA PC Game 1 on 1 Points Calculator

Hi...

I'm a FIFA 13 addict and I've decided to make spreadsheets to help me out counting the points and calculating who's the winner when I face my brother or my friends in a 1&1 contest.

So, we're making a 13 games mini-league, where we face each other during 13 games. I would like to know how can I insert the game result and make excell calculate the points for me. Example, if I win I would get 3 points and my opponent 0. If we tie, both of us would get 1 point.
What I have so far is a basic add function where excel calculates the scored goals and the points. I want to insert the results and excel would calculate the points...

Can you help me?
I'm a complete newbie about Excel, so be nice for me...

=IF(($E2=$F2),1,IF(($E2>$F2),3,0)) in B2 on your sheet

=IF(($E2=$F2),1,IF(($E2<$F2),3,0)) in I2 on your sheet

Then just copy and paste to fill the columns for all the games

Not seen that error before, just reentered the formula in the sheet and it works fine. Try this:

I've tried that formula a dozen times but it keeps giving that error...

Excel stopped working on my computer so I din't had the chance to try it...
But I've forward the spreadsheet to a friend of mine and it's working like a charm...

Hey, I have another question. I've emptied all the results cells but it keeps giving me numbers on the points field.
I know there's a thing I can put on the formula to leave blank if the cell is empty...

Can you also help me on that?

Good point, didn't think of that. Would need another IF statement in there. Will try and have a look at some point today.

That covers it, pretty quick and dirty but just add the IF(ISBLANK(E3)=True before your existing formulae and lob an extra ) on the back end of the formula and it should work for you
