Merge 2 sheets by common data? Ex: sheet 1 has address, no phone. Sheet 2 same and phone

I am pulling data from Medicare.gov's data site, One sheet has names of nursing home owners by legal name and addresses but no phone numbers, and another sheet has facility names, addresses and phone numbers. Is there a way to merge the two sheets using something common to both, such as the address? (The legal name/business names differ.)

This shouldn't be any problem, provided there is some identical piece of info for each business on both sheets. You should upload a small sample of what you're dealing with, so that we can further assist you.

This can be dealt with the Excel formula using Vlookup. But providing a sample data will even be better to provide a precise solution.

Copying and uploading the samples are proving to be difficult.
However, let's say Book 1 has the company name, address, city, zip. Book 2 has the same info but also has a phone number, and contact first name. I want to take the phone number and contact name from Book 2 and merge it into Book 1, which will be my final sheet. I just need step one, two three or a resource on the steps.

=vlookup(cell in sheet 1 that has a match in sheet 2,array in sheet 2, column # to bring over, "false" to force exact match)

keep in mind, you will need to "lock" your selction ($A$1:$x$x) if your array is in the same workbook, otherwise the array will "slip" as you copy it down the column. Looking up something in a different spreadsheet altogether locks the array automatically.

OR, you could persist with an upload, and get a solution tailor made to your circumstances. Where are you having trouble with uploading?

I'm not making much progress on this on my own. I've attached two datasheets, they have a "provider number" in common (most of them anyway.) I'd like to capture or merge the info on the sheet with phone numbers, ownership info into the "CA-needs phone" sheet (as my final result.) If I can explain further my number in FL is 727-623-0034.
