Need to format a column of cells of e-mail address to have the same suffix after the @sign

I am trying to enter emails which all have the exact same text after the @ sign in excel so that part is not necessary to type each time i: *****************@crimson.ua.edu. I only want the person entering data to enter the individual part of the email that come prior to the @ sign.

I tried formatting this way and it does not work:

    Format Cells >Custom Format> and typed: ###########@"crimson.ua.edu"

    try this

    @"@crimson.ua.edu"

The @ is a symbol so your @ for the email address needs to be inside the quotes....HTH

Re: Need to format a column of cells of e-mail address to have the same suffix after the @

Hi and welcome to the forum

Keep in mind that the actual text IN the cell still does not have @crimson.ua.edu, so it is not a valid email address - it just looks like it, because generally all formatting does is change the cosmetics of a cell, not it's actual contents.

If you want to be able to work with the email address, then you will need to add the last part, maybe in column B by using something like...
    A1&"@crimson.ua.edu"
