    turns numbers into dates

    Hi,

This should be pretty simple to fix but I haven't figured it out. When I write out ranges in cells like:

    1-10
    10-20
    20-30
    30-40
    Etc.

Excel turn some of these ranges into dates such as 01-Oct, which is extremely annoying. But trying to change to different date formats but it still keep it to dates.

Any suggestions to what I can do?

Hello, First format the range or column or row to text. Then enter the numbers you would like to..

    Does that work?

    Thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately not. It still converts it into the date format of 01-Oct.

    Instead of 1-10

    try to write '1-10

the character with the " , i mean Single Quote..

Yeah, that does the trick! But I need to import some data where where the value is already without the quote character. But it works a temporary solution.

formatting cells as text BEFORE entering definitely works, so does import from a text file if you change the fields from general to text in the import wizard
