anybody can teach me how to do the captioned procedure. i tried to use the pivot table but the result cannot be placed in the second worksheet. Is there any formula can be used ?

hi kachuen2006. it's good to let us know what you wish to see too by keying in manually. if you want to sum up both column D & E based on Column C, then:
=SUMPRODUCT((Log!$C$3:$C$13=C3)*(Log!$D$3:$E$13))
if it's just column D, then:
=SUMIF(Log!$C$3:$C$13,C3,Log!$D$3:$D$13)
