Creating a Fantasy Football Scoring Spreadsheet

    Hello Excel Guru's!
I have basic Excel knowledge so I thought I would come ask the experts. Anyone that has knowledge of fantasy football and scoring would be a plus. I am in a custom fantasy football league that has custom scoring. For years the owner of the league has been doing the calculations by hand. I think there would be an easier way to get this information to excel. I've figured out how to get the statistics I need quickly from the internet. I'm looking on how to take statistics and turn them into our point system. My first attachment is the league owners original spreadsheet of the scoring system. The second sheet I have so far are statistics I've pulled today to try and create something. I pulled the information from a website using the Data from Web tool in Excel. I then removed all unnecessary text and statistics leaving the minimum of what I need. I've inserted columns inbetween each category for my formulas to create my points. As you can see I've successfully created formulas for touchdowns and interceptions but I can't get it right for pass % and yds. I've been trying the hlookup with no luck. The reason the percentages are in decimal format is because I thought maybe the percent sign was throwing it off causing it not to work. It's not working because I just don't know what I'm doing. There are two tables that show what the points should be based or completion percentage and passing yards. Can someone tell me how to set this up to calculate correctly?

My spreadsheet would be an all in one tool for our league. We would keep our rosters in different excel tabs for each team owner. So would it be possible once I have the scoring formulas figured out for the information on one tab automatically transfer to another tab. A better explanation would be if I imported all the stastics I need and have each individual player scored on that tab could those points be transferred to the owners tab and his points are there for a calculation with his other players to show his teams total points for that week. So once all of the numbers are imported from the net and the several hundred players involved each have a total is it possible for those numbers to transfer to my personal team tab which has my players only? Hard to explain without sounding confusing.

Re: Creating a Fantasy Football Scoring Spreadsheet

    Hey Joe,

If you're looking for a guide on scoring rules for standard fantasy football leagues then this guide would probably help.

But I have to ask why you're going through all of this trouble when so many sites are now offering free leagues with custom scoring? Most of the big sites even give you live scoring for free.

Another problem with scraping statistics is that each week there are scoring corrections that you have to account for. They usually don't come out until Wednesday/Thursday the week following the game.
