Need help - comparing 2 columns and highlight dupes in one needed

HI,

Please see the example that I need help with. Two columns (A & B).

A B
1 1
1 3
2 5
2
3
3
4
4
5
5

I would like to highlight all the cells in Col A that are exact matches to Column B – I cannot use the duplicate function since there are duplicate numbers in Column A. Column A has many more numbers than Column B.

Can anyone suggest a way to get this result?

Select all the cells in column A, click on Conditional Formatting | New Rule | Use a Formula... , then enter this formula in the dialogue box:

=ISNUMBER(MATCH(A1,$B:$B,0))

then click the Format button, choose the Fill tab and choose your colour. Then OK your way out.
