    Transferring correlations between excel sheets

    Hello all,

There's a Monthly report I generate at work. The report has a column for USER, EXTENSION NUMBER, etc. but when it is generated, the "USER" column is never properly populated (it has "unspecified user" all through so I manually check each EXTENSION NUMBER against another database to properly fill the this column as appropriate.
I also need to add a fresh column for the user's Department (this is non existent in the raw generated report but I normally add it manually using another database).

I'll be eternally grateful to get some sort of script that will automate all of this for me.

I have attached a sample with all the requisite columns (The actual report runs into tens of thousands of rows though).

    Thanks Thanks Thanks.

Hi baldmechanic and welcome to the forum,

Try the attached file which may do what you want. Sheet 'Users' was added as a 'Data Base' of names, departments and extensions. Sheet Users has two command buttons:
    a. To restore original raw data (used for software development)
    b. To add 'User' and 'Department' Names to the 'Raw Report'.

If the 'Raw' Report does not have 'Department' in 'Column B', it is automatically added.

There is also an option to color the items that do not have matching extensions in the 'Users' Sheet.
