    Positioning ControlTipText with dual monitors

    Hello All,

I'm using dual monitors and when I mouse hover over command button controls, the controltiptext label appears on the far right side edge of the left monitor (the Excel application is maximised on the right monitor).

"when I moved Excel to the second monitor, the forms kept popping up on the other screen. I solved that problem by changing the StartUpPosition on all the forms to manual and calculating the Top and Left using the Height and Width of the Application and Forms. Now everything works fine except for ControlTipText. They still pop up on the other screen"

I'm experiencing the same issue as the following threads:

    http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-q...g-problem.html

Does any brainy forum user know how to fix this?

I'm open to a solution involving API to force the position if there is no other option.

Re: Positioning ControlTipText with dual monitors

    Discovered something interesting.

If I open Excel on the left monitor, the controltiptext works fine. It's only when I open it on the right monitor that the controltiptext appears at the far right side edge of the left monitor.

(My main monitor is currently set to left, secondary set to right).

I'll try switching my main monitor from left to right to rule out left/right being a factor with the position issues - but I suspect I'll find that the cause is whether Excel is opened on your main monitor or not.

Assuming my theory is correct, is there any way that you could force Excel to maximise on the main monitor?

Yes! Code below will force Excel to maximise on your main monitor (regardless whether the main monitor is left or right) (Code adapted from http://www.ozgrid.com/forum/showthread.php?t=176821 )
