    Pop-Up Message

    Hi,

    I was wondering if there was a way to have a pop-up message appear if someone tries to sort columns in a workbook? I have two-way cell linking in my workbook and if the columns get sorted, then the cells are linked to the wrong information. I want to put a pop-up message telling the user that if they proceed to sort the columns, then the information will get mixed up. Any suggestions?

    AFAIK, there is no event handle in Excel that can check for a sort, whether its from the autofilter arrows, or from the ribbon. So this will not be possible. You could insert two of three rows above the list, freeze those rows and in them insert a message warning against sorting the rows.
    Alternatively, and if the sheet and formulas are not too complex, review the formulas that get messed up because the source gets sorted, and try remodel them to formulas that can cope with reordering of rows.

    Thank you for letting me know! Unfortunately, I think the code is too complex to switch around. I'll try to edit it though to include the frozen rows at the top. Thanks again
