They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, please see the following:
datemacrohelp.png
I am trying to execute the preceding operations with a macro. (move dates from same column as names, into column to the left of names, next to names that fell under the same date.) I'd like it to loop throughout the worksheet. I can substitute and move things around in VBA but I cannot purely write the macro. I was thinking either recognizing the pertinent cells as dates or by their bold characteristic? I feel like this is a pretty common macro in the business world and was hoping someone would share the solution with me. I am using Excel version 2007.
If it helps, the purpose of this is to format the file in such a way that i can use a pivot table. i want the names to keep a relationship with the dates (example: the date represents when the customer placed an order) Any suggestions are appreciated. Please provide feedback if it is not understood what it is I am trying to do.
