Load userform combobox and listbox from worksheet

I need to know if a userform can be populated from a worksheet, however i would still want to have full control of combo and list boxes.

For example let's say i saved all the content on the user form to a worksheet that acts as a log file. Then sometime later we may need to revise the information, in this case we would re-load the userform from the appropriate row in the log file, however i would want to have full control of combo and list boxes. Let's say that the combo and list boxes have multiple selections can these be maintained with full functionality, specifically i need the ability for the dropdowns to show the available selections but they must be initially populated per the data from the log file.

Perhaps a little further explanation on my part.....

Ordinarily the userform is populated from a worksheet within the workbook that contains the userform. In the case of re-populating the userform from the log file (which is a different workbook), would i not have to determine the relevent position (i think index) of the value from the log file for the combo and list boxes such that when re-loading of the form is complete the combo list boxes are set to the correct position in the dropdown.
