    VBA macros

Hello I am new to VBA and Macros, i am trying to be more efficient on some of my reports i get. i have attached a template of a report i work with. I have some conditional formatting setup to color code certain actions in column x. I would also like to be able to gather info from previous workbooks i save twice a month that have the same headers. On column W I would like to get the previous status and also in column Y I would like to know how many times the member has been on my reports consecutive times. I believe this could be accomplished with a formula. This is where it gets tricky and not sure if it can happen, what I would like to do is check on of the check boxes and have that pull the data in that row to the appropriate worksheet and also somehow have the previous data on my reports populate to show whether or not I have sent them an email or letter already.
