delete duplicate rows with multiple criteria

Dear All,

I have a data set having multiple rows with same date and different time. The data set looks like follows:

Date Time Spot Price
5-Jan-11 6:55PM 108.85
5-Jan-11 10:56AM 111.1
6-Jan-11 6:56PM 110.8
6-Jan-11 10:41AM 110.9
7-Jan-11 10:13PM 108.85
7-Jan-11 9:07PM 108.85
7-Jan-11 6:51PM 108.85
7-Jan-11 10:50AM 111.6


I have to keep the row with highest value for each date and delete the rest of the data for other value for the same date ( I want to do it for getting lowest value as well). I want to add a vb mesage box asking " Do you want maximum or minimum value for the data set" and then if i want the data set with lowest value, i should get the data with lowest value.

Expecting your help in this regard.

Hi,
the "Similar Threads" panel below your post has a number of suggested threads that have the same style of problem. Take a look there for starters and then maybe post your workbook with your attempts at that stage.

I can recall a few other questions with very similar requirements from other users so looking through the past threads may also help
