How to make a Chart using a dynamic range?? (Need Macro?)

I have never used charts in excel unfortunately. I just finished watching a few tutorials but still a little confused. I have a WS with a list of items I want to make various charts of how do you make a chart that adjusts when new items are added? (thus dynamic data) Do you need a macro to do this or is it just standard by defining a range within that sheet?

Just make the data a TABLE and make the chart off that, and it will include the new stuff when added. Try it on a simple example to verify.

This might sound novice but could you make a quick example file and paste so I could see. I select the data for the chart and then when I added to the next row it does not adjust.

I think it makes more sense for YOU to post a sample file, then for me to post some arbitrary data that may or may not make sense to you.

Mike attached is the active WB. I am trying to populate charts on WS "HOME" based off data in WS "Recommendations". Start off with an easier one. In columnO of WS "Recommendations" there is either 2 choices "Compliance" or "Improvement". I want to make a Bar Graph using these information. But I want it to be dynamic that if data is entered below it that it adjusts. (I didn't know if you had to define the range using a macro to make it dynamic or how you go about this process)

A bar chart from what data? Make a simple example of what data you want, show me exactly where it is and I can help.

MikeTron the file following is an example of the data I am trying to interpret. This data in the previous workbook was found in column of WS "Recommendations" in this one its columnA of "Sheet1". It is more counting number of occurrences.
