    I want to highlight any cell containing the word "If "

    I am assuming by the way you phrased your question that you are looking to use a macro instead of conditional formating to highlight the cell. I will also assume that you want to search the whole worksheet rather than just a single column or row and that you want to search values not inside a formula. Try this:
