Arrow zoom macro stops in protected mode

I have a sheet that has several dropdown data validation boxes. I am using the a zoom macro each time a DV box is clicked on. The zoom returns to normal 100% if any other cell is clicked other than a data validation cell. Everything works fine except I have things I dont want the user to be able to change, therefor it is in protected mode. The macro wont work in protected mode. I have tried several codes including the basic unprotect/protect codes. I cannot get any to work within my sheet. Each time I try to run a mocro to fix this, it zooms to thevalue I have chosen but will not return back to 100%. Any ideas?
