Perhaps because when the workbook opens the "NIC" sheet isn't the Active sheet.
On which line do you get the error?

The error pops up twice, On opening the first file and on activating the second window
I changed the code to:

and now I get a "Application-defined or object-defined error" on selecting the NIC sheet

Is there in fact an "NIC" sheet, and is it visible when the workbook is opened?
