Bat file to add a button to the QAT in Excel to run a macro in Excel

    Hi all
I'm not sure this is the right forum for this question but here goes.

I have created a bat file to copy an Excel macro to %appdata%\microsoft\addins and
register the macro so it now appears in the Add-ins list in Excel on a user's machine.

Now I would like to add extra functionality to the bat file to add a button to the QAT in Excel to run the macro.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, what the command is? I've done some internet searching and had a look through the registry.

    Thanks for your help.

assuming the addin is a .xlam file you can add a button to the QAT via ribbonx xml.

have a look to this link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ffice.14).aspx

I have done something similar in outlook and it was a matter to create an copy the xml file to the right place.
