Using Power Query to do multiple searches on a website

I've been trying to get power query to search a list of parcel numbers on an assessor site: http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/Depts/a...ealprop/pcl.as . The problem I'm getting, every time you put in a different parcel number, you get the same URL for the results. I want to extract just a few pieces of information for each parcel search, but I can't initiate a search through excel. I'm thinking the problem is in the Data source settings. How can just get it to show me the assessors page results for a single parcel search in excel?

Thank you very much to MikeTron for your reply yesterday. That was a huge help.

Hey, I am not familiar with the data-set and again I am on my phone but is there a way to pull ALL of the data with power query then use VBA to process or purge data you dont want? Im just thinking of alternative possibilities, as sometimes that is easier than clever vba.

Re: Using Power Query to do multiple searches on a website

Someone posted before and erased it, but he had mentioned something about static HTML. I just wanted to thank you for your advice. You also advised me to seek commercial help and I wanted to take a second to explain why I'm even attempting this. I've paid 10s of thousands of dollars for IT people in the past. I've had proprietary software for the foreclosure auction, and had custom websites to access my SQL severs. I have a lot of IT stuff, and never understood any of it. One time I asked my IT guy to add a feature, he quoted me 2k and I paid. After a few weeks, he demanded more money. I said never mind, I'll just find someone else to finish it because I'm not paying 4x the original quote. He held the source code hostage, took my website offline, and finally gave it back so screwed up I had to basically have the whole thing rebuilt. I had it rebuilt, then that IT guy took another job, and when I hired another IT guy, he said the other guy did such a bad job that he had to start all over. All of this IT nonsense put me out of business (and the market changed). This time I want to understand what I'm paying for. I'm very good with computers, but I don't know programming. I will hire someone when I have an understanding of how I want it to work. I have a manual system now for my business and I make decent money doing it that way. I'm going to spend a few hours every night learning as much as possible about this so I can always maintain control next time around. I will probably be combing through these forums for months/years reading and trying to figure this stuff out.

I didn't erase my post 'cause it's on your other thread !
'Cause here your link is bad and on the other thread link works …
No good to duplicate thread !

Nothing very difficult to code, beginner / medium level, to be continued on original thread …

Re: Using Power Query to do multiple searches on a website

    Hello Mike,

Please look at my original post. Like Marc pointed out, it was probably bad etiquette to have started another post about this. I felt that after you informed me about power query, my question had changed so much that it warranted a new post. Thank you for all your help.

    Brett
