Excel is showing I'm still in our shared file

Currently our office is sharing an excel spreadsheet. When I go into the spreadsheet and then close out it's still shows to others that I'm in the file. The only way I can force it to show I'm not in the file is to restart my computer. Any idea what can be done to fix this?

Over our network. It's placed on our server for all to use.
