Listbox1.Text will only return a string, so I have no idea what you are trying to do with the part in brackets that follows it.

PS If you remove the part in brackets do you still get the error?

what i was saying if i run macro

i will get an options like this 1. Access data
2. Update data

if i click update data--->itshould display me an option which list of batches like this
1.tblprod_agr_001
2.tblprod_agr_002

i have to select the batch name to update the data

If the listbox lists the values in brackets you don't need that part in the brackets.
