i am using this code to find the next empty row in column A and place the name and time in A and C respectively. It works fine for the first 4 uses, then i get the run time error.

so I read a similar post in MrExcel, the user cleared and formatted the cells and it worked, for a short time. I did the same thing and now it works ok. The sheet "TimeLog" was a brand new sheet, with not data entry at all except the testing I was doing. Any explanation as to what happened?

It's difficult to say without seeing the Code in the Workbook. Perhaps it's as simple as declaring NextFree as Long. See this
