How to bring comma separated values present in a column into cells in next row?

    Hi,

Can you please help on how to bring comma separated values present in a column into cells in next row.
Comma separated columns are present in Column B. Column A is not comma separated. Please look into the sample input and expected output.
I have around 10,000 records like this. Please suggest on the solution.

    E.g. (Sample Input)
    -------------------
    Column A Column B
    John 1999,2002,2003
    James 2003,2002,2001,2004,2005
    Joe 1999,2001

    Expected output
    -----------------
    Column A Column B
    John 1999
    2002
    2003
    James 2003
    2002
    2001
    2004
    2005
    Joe 1999
    2001

    Regards,
    Pal.

    Try this

    Output appears in columns E & F

Open up the VBA editor by hitting ALT F11

Insert a new module by hitting Insert - Module

Paste the macro into the empty sheet

Hit ALT F11 to get back to the worksheet.

Run the macro by going to tools-macro in Excel 2003 or the view ribbon in Excel 2007/2010.

Without putting too much into it, something like this might work. There are maybe better ways to get the last row, but I don't do it enough to know them off the top of my head. This assumes you have column headers, and I am putting the results in column "C" and "D".
