Hi,

note: i open the saved file using notepad and this is when i see the extra quotes
Does the 'certain text' contain commas by any chance?

no but it does contain quotes..........i think i just read that if a cell of data contains commas or quotes then when you save it as a csv file quotes get added at beginning and end of cell data...........have not verified this though..........
is there anyway around this?
As long as the text never contains commas, you could write some code to output the sheet to a CSV, although I think this is pretty standard behaviour.
Are you opening the .csv in excel?
Thanks,
Solus
