    Excel Solver Constraint Help

    I've got a fairly easy question for Excel experts that im having some trouble wrapping my head around..

    I have a 6 month production schedule (month by month) optimized to minimize total costs,
    The current constraints include,
    On_hand_after_production>= Demand
    Ending_Inventory<=Storage_Capacity
    Units_Produced<=Production_Capacity

    I need to alter or add (im not sure what) a constraint so that except for month 6, demand does not need to be met on time. Meaning all demand must be eventually met by month 6...

    Wut do ?

    I have screenshots that can be posted in order to make it more visual if necessary

    Thanks !

    Then you don't need a constraint that monthly production >= monthly demand; only that total production >= total demand.

    Oh I see...So i added a column that summed up the totals for production and for demand and set them as the constraints....its seems to be the right answer. Thank you!

    Re: Excel Solver Constraint Help

    Thats the answer I got when I put those numbers in as well so that must be correct thank you!

    What if I needed to do it month by month? Meaning That demand in any of the first 5 months must be met no later than a month late, and demand in month 6 must be met on time.
