Automated url look up in who.is?

    Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to write a macro that looks up a list of urls (approximately 500) and return the information about:

    1) when the domain was registrated
    2) when it was last updated
    3) from what country it originates

I'm doing a hyperlink mapping trying to grasph the hyperlink topology of a corpus of websites discussing the same issue.

here's an example of what I would like to harvest the information from:

    http://www.who.is/whois/powerwatch.co.uk

I'm not sure how it should be done or if it is even possible...

BTW it does not have to be from who.is. There might be easier ways of getting that data, that I'm not aware of.

Re: Automated url look up in who.is?

    Hi again

I've been trying, but can't get it to work

Let's say I have urls listed i column A, and want to write a macro to return the data in the <div class="registrar-information domain-data"> part in column B in the corresponding rows

Can someone point me in the direction of how to do that?

Post your code between tags (forum rules) and explain your difficulty.
At least attach a sample workbook with a source worksheet with an URL and a desired result worksheet …

Think about ressources in this forum threads !
