Remove Hyperlink Error Message

Is there anyway I can remove that "Cannot open the specified file" popup that appears when I click on cells containing the HYPERLINK function? I have a range of cells setup that use the HYPERLINK function but in a different way to what is intended.

All I want to do is to remove that annoying message when a cell is clicked on. I've tried putting Application.DisplayAlerts = False and Application.DisplayAlerts = True and the start/end of my VBA code, but that doesn't work. I was wondering if there is a more universal way of preventing those annoying error boxes.
