Need Help! Excel 2007 Default Border

I need help and you all always figure it out for me! I use Excel 2007 and wonder if there is a way to change the default values for the borders. I would like to keep from going to the drop down list every time I would like to use this same border. Thank you for the help, you all make my job easier!

You could try recording a macro when doing the selection and then assigning this to a shortcut key or the quick access ribbon.

Re: Need Help! Excel 2007 Default Border

Thank you for the help. I am new at doing more than the basics in Excel so macros are above my head. Could I get a little more detail from you? Thanks again for your help.

OK - can you post an example workbook showing what border format you are trying to use.

I have attached an example workbook. The bold borders showing REG hours and OT hours will be the border I would like to change to the default. Thanks again for your help. Mock Tally Sheet.xlsx

Please set the attached. Select an area and press control lowercase l.

Code is in module 1 (Alt F11).

Re: Need Help! Excel 2007 Default Border

I opened the workbook directly from your attachment, selected an area, pressed the lowercase l, and had a lowercase l in the cell. It did not insert the border. I apologize for the trouble, I am very new at trying to go deeper than just the basics when working with Excel.

Did you press CONTROL at the same time as l?

Re: Need Help! Excel 2007 Default Border

I did not press them at the same time! It worked like a charm once I did! I would like the weight of the border to be thicker. How do I change that? Thank you!

Is it possible to add a command to the macro to change the color of the area I put the border around?
